The FRIENDS OF INDIA (FOI)
are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) who served in India from 1961-1976, their families and
friends, their Indian supervisors and counterparts, former Peace Corps/India staff and
anyone who might have an interest in India and Peace Corps. We are a non-profit
organization.
FOI has three goals:
(1) to continue to expand our understanding of India,
(2) provide a channel of communication and information via
our newsletter and secure website,
(3) to increase awareness and support of Indian charities.
This web site complements our quarterly Friends of India Newsletter and supports our goals.

Raise Your Voice for More Peace Corps
National Day of ActionTuesday, March 3rd
As budget constraints threaten to diminish Peace Corps presence around the world, the
MorePeaceCorps Campaign is planning a National Day of Action to demonstrate to Congress that
increased funding is needed for a bigger, better and bolder Peace Corps.
We need you to participate on Tuesday, March 3rd. That’s the day when MorePeaceCorps campaign
volunteers will be walking the halls of Congress urge support for increased Peace Corps funding.
Your phone calls, emails and faxes will help support these volunteers by showing citizen support
for the Peace Corps.
Please make plans to visit www.morepeacecorps.org on March 3rd for specific details on taking
action with your lawmakers. Contact Jonathan Pearson of the National Peace Corps Association
(jonathan@rpcv.org) if you have further questions.
