Peace Corps Legacy Event

"Recognizing the contribution of former Peace Corps volunteers and staff in Foreign Affairs Agencies"

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Peace Corps. Literally hundreds of former Peace Corps volunteers and staff have joined the ranks of the State Department, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and the Foreign Commercial Service (FCS). By doing so, they continue to serve their country and make a significant contribution to foreign affairs.

Please join senior officials from State, USAID, FAS, FCS, and Peace Corps on Tuesday, May 9th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the Exhibit Hall to recognize this group who now serve or have served in Foreign Affairs Agencies. This event will give everyone an opportunity to network, make new friends, and build a sense of community and professional connection.

The event is open to all current and former State, USAID, FAS, and FCS employees. If you have a background or interest in Peace Corps, you are invited to register by sending an email to PeaceCorpsEvent@state.gov and tell us the following information noted below:

  1. Name (last, first)
  2. Current Agency:
  3. Current Job Title:
  4. Peace Corps Experience:
  5. Contact Information (email, phone)
  6. May we update your EP+ profile with this information? Y/N
  7. May we share this information with other event participants? Y/N
  8. Do you plan to attend the event? Y/N
If yes, do you currently hold a valid State Department Smart ID badge? If so, you're all set and we'll see you on the 9th. If you don't currently have a valid badge, please add your date of birth (DOB) and Social Security Number (SSN) to your email so we can pre-clear you in to the building with Diplomatic Security. We need to hear from you no later than Friday, April 28, preferably much sooner.

If you would like to help organize the event, please contact Doug Sonnek at 202-647-4023 (sonnekDE@state.gov). If you have general questions about the event, please contact Mark Nachtrieb at 202-647-7681 (nachtriebM@state.gov).
